I am currently designing & building my new web site (Seems to be taking for-ever so apologies if your waiting) which will enable you to view the equipment I use, get an accurate description of the equipment, see the different size setups i use & provide you with useful links to other sites involved in the entertainment industry, including equipment hire for D.I.Y DJ's euipment sales, limo car hire, outside bar facilities, photographers etc... But most importantly, what i can do for you to make your event special & unique. so please check back regularly for an update.
I run a mobile disco & karaoke unit avaliable for any party & venue. I am based in dersingham, Norfolk but will travel. I have over 15 years experience with mobile DJ'ing.
All equipment is PAT tested (portable appliance testing) which is a legal requirement & we have upto £5 million public liability cover should the unfortunate happen.
Some venue's (especially council owned) require the above to allow an entertainer to perform so you know your in safe hands
A little bit about me
I started my career in the typical way, as a rodie for another disco which i was quite happy with untill i was approached by some friends of the family who ran a fully equipped catering and funtion room venue, They were looking for a full time resident DJ to cater for wedding receptions, Birthday parties, Anniversaries etc.. Being a young man on a yts training scheme not earning a lot of money i thought "hey? why not?" i'd started collecting music (back when vinyl was still king) while i was a rodie and had enough to cater for a simple disco so took the job on. I done residency there for three years before an accident at work forced me to quit. fortunately i used the money i'd earnt and my yts training to start building my own disco unit. after 6 months of recovery i was ready to hit the road, so began my life as a mobile DJ.

The disco consists of a 2k sound system for the bigger venue or a 500 watt system for the smaller venue and various lighting effects including dmx. traditional light screens (light boxes) & uv lights. I am constantly purchasing new effects to add or replace to my show so the light show just gets better & better. my music collection now expands over all genre's and varieties so there's something for everyone. High class cd quality sound so no skips or scratches. Other formats avaliable on request.

I started doing karaoke over 5 years ago when i went into partnership with a family member. after 3 years my business partner ventured to pastures new leaving me to fulfill our bookings so i purchased my own equipment & continued with the work. I have a variable set-up which enables me to set-up in the corner of the smallest venue or spread out across a large venue where i can provide a big screen to display the lyrics onto and/or video camera capture to project a realtime video of you & your guests signing. I currently have a collection of over 2500 songs on CD+G with a variation for all ages to sing their favourite songs but I am constantly updating & expanding my collection as the months go on.
Unlike some karaoke's I DO-NOT let groupie followers take preference over your guests/customers. I take a fun relaxed approach to ensure everyone gets treated fairly & not feel they are being judged. Yes there are some people who can sing & sometimes this makes the non experienced feel aprehensive but don't worry.... I treat everyone the same & help you out if you get stuck... All the tracks can be pitch controlled & effects are added to suit your voice (All singer's including professionals, pop stars ect... use effects) & if it doesn't go right the first time, we start again untill it's right. Remeber karaoke is for fun.... It's not a competition.. (Unless you want it to be :o)

My credits include The golden lion hotel in hunstanton, The wash & tope hotel in hunstanton, 2 years regular apperances at heacham social club, 2 summer seasons at Manor park holiday village in hunstanton & 2008 summer season at Searles Holiday Resort in hunstanton norfolk. I currently do alot of work at the Oliver Cromwell Hotel in March, Cambs. An AA 3star listed hotel as well as various other venues across the county.
I worked for 2 years as a technician at the princess theatre in hunstanton which gave me the training to work to tight schedules & high proffesionalism
I can cater for any age or party from 13 years to 90 years, engagements to weddings, christinings to funerals (Yes i have done funerals) I am not a professional childrens entertainer so if this is what you are looking for, I can put you in touch with the right people from magicians, balloon modeller's & great party game host's. However, If your looking for a disco to play all your childrens favourite music & do a few light-hearted party games then look no further. I am enhanced CRB police checked to work with minors & adults with social disabilities.

ARE THEY LEGAL?
A few things you should know before you book your entertainment
Over the last couple of years, you've probably noticed an increase in the amount of money a disco or karaoke charges? whether you've tried booking one or know someone who's tried booking one. As with any business, there is always stuff going on in the background which you may not be aware of. The music industry is a huge business which loses millions of pounds each year in revenue from illegal music downloading. To try to make up for this, the music industry is targeting any business which uses music as a main tool (as well as any business which play's music). For this reason, it is only reasonable to accept that all entertainers overheads are continually going up & this is what you are paying for..... AS WELL AS THE EXPERIENCE OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

Did you know that it is illegal to broadcast music without a valid licence? More & more DJ's are now operating from a laptop or PC based system (Other formats include MP3/4, iPods. SD memory cards, Minidisc). In order to use this system an appropriate license must be purchased by the DJ to allow them to play & broadcast music. The myth that a venue's license covers them to play music is no longer an excuse & the truth is.... only to an extent. All the venue's license does is allow the venue to hold functions where music is to be played. If the DJ does not hold any of the following licenses, then they may be breaking the law.... PRO-DUB, PRS, MCPS. You've seen the adverts on dvd's about pirate copies ect..? well these licenses are the music industry equivilent to ensure your DJ is purchasing & using legally obtained music.
(Your DJ may use a laptop for complex lighting systems which do not require a license, please check what the Dj uses a laptop for)
You may have a friend who knows a guy who works with someone who does disco's ect..... but are they legal? is it worth the risk? A representitive of PRS could (& are legally entitled to) turn up at your venue/party with no warning & instruct the disco to stop performing with immediate effect & have the music collection & equipment confiscated there & then. Imagine this happening on your wedding day?? or to a disco you've arranged for a friend/family members party? & before you ask, yes they do operate in this area & yes there have been DJ's caught & prosecuted.

As well as the above licenses, you should make sure the disco/karaoke your hiring has suitable Public liability Insurance & holds a current P.A.T test certificate. Any council owned building will not let an entertainer perform without these two items & many private owned venues are following suit.
Some karaoke shows are now starting to incorporate laptops into their shows & the same rules apply to them to.
Public Liability Insurance: Safe-guards the entertainer against any unfortunate accidents or incidences (& they have in the past) which may occur during the time they or their equipment is on site.
P.A.T (Portable Appliance testing): Is a test done by a special machine (along with visual inspection) performed by a competent person which tests all electrical items from the plugs to the big fancy lighting effects to make sure they are safe to use & are not going to cause injury to any persons who may come in contact with them. Some believe this test to only be a volentary test & to a point they are correct but technically it does come under the electricy at work regulations 1989. As of april 1st 2010, this test is now a legal requirement.
All licenses accompany a valid certificate which if in doubt, you should ask to view. Further information is avaliable via the internet by key searching any of the above terms.

Marshall & Mandy comical duo


We were very honoured to have performed at the masquerade ball in Kings Lynn Town hall, Nov 2nd Charity event in honour of Help For Heroes
Marshall & Mandy are the combined characters of Keith Marshall & Liam Mandy.
Keith was already an established entertainer with a mobile disco & karaoke business While Liam was an aspiring young Actor & singer.
Keith was a member of a local amature dramatics group which Liam joined six months later & they instantly hit it off & a friendship formed.
They first performed together 2 years ago when a twist of fate forced them to perform together during a karaoke in a local hotel after keith's resident assistant suddenly fell ill & Liam (Originaly a guest) stepped in to assist. They have performed together ever since as a comical duo.
Since meeting Their credits have included:-
Manor Park Holiday Village & Searles Leisure Resort in Hunstanton.
They were recently involved in the KLFM West Norfolk has even more talent competition where they were placed in the top 4 acts during the final.
Both Keith & Liam enjoy performing together & have had audiences in stitches with their comical capers & zainy antics.
